MANNED SPACEFLIGHT POST Y2K

At the start of the year 2000, the population of space was zero, largely due to fears of Y2K computer malfunctions. Since then, the Mir station has been deorbited, the ISS greatly expanded, and the Chinese have started a manned program, based on their Shenzhou capsule.

Listed below are all the flights, post-Y2K, associated with manned programs, i.e. the Mir and ISS stations, other Space Shuttle flights and the Chinese Shenzhou program. Since there are just four pre-Y2K flights that relate to the ISS and Shenzhou, they are also listed. The list has the latest flight on top, older flights lower down.

The Russians have sent up three major pieces of the ISS (Zarya, Zvezda and Pirs), 28 Progress supply ships and 15 Soyuz transports/lifeboats. The Americans have sent 24 shuttle flights to the ISS. The Chinese launched manned Shenzhou capsules in October of 2003, and October of 2005.
